Police say the 27,000 reward in the kidnap-slaying case of an Overland Park girl will be divvied up evenly among three tipsters.
During a news conference today in Lenexa, police declined to identify the three persons who provided key tips that led to suspect Edwin Hall of Olathe. He was arrested hours after the body of 18-year-old Kelsey Smith was found near a lake in Grandview, Missouri.
The reward was offered after Smith's June second kidnapping from an Overland Park Target store was captured on surveillance cameras.
Police first said none of the hundreds of tips led them to the 26-year-old Hall, who's charged with premeditated first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping.
Later, officials said three tipsters provided information that directly aided in Hall's arrest.
