Dozens from across Wichita joined together at the Unitarian Universalist Church in east Wichita for a candlelight vigil honoring those suffering in Haiti.

Reverend David Carter said, "When this news came to me, I thought what can we do?"

Carter decided he would open his church doors to the entire community. Facilitating an open house, he said would be a way for people to join in prayer, fellowship, and grief as well as unite in a mission to help those suffering in Haiti.

"This is an opportunity to see people come together, share and help," said Carter.
