Wichita Woman Accused Of Shooting Estranged Husband Charged
Forty-three-year-old Melinda R. Hazelton has been charged with second degree intentional murder.

The woman accused of shooting her husband in the head during a domestic dispute has been formally charged.
Forty-three-year-old Melinda R. Hazelton has been charged with second degree intentional murder. Her husband, 44-year-old John Hazelton died at a local hospital.
The shooting happened around 4:00 a.m. Friday when John Hazelton visited his wife’s home in the 12000 block of West 19th Street. Police say the couple had been having marital problems and were separated.
The couple’s 16-year-old daughter was in the home when the shooting happened.
A $100,000 bond has been set for Melinda Hazelton. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 1st.
