For years, CW Porubsky's Deli and Tavern has been a Topeka restaurant landmark. Now it's about to make its debut on film.

Matthew Porubsky, whose grandparents, Charles and Lydia Porubsky, opened Porubsky's and whose uncle still runs the place, is telling the story in a documentary. He worked with Gizmo Pictures to put the film together. It will debut Thursday in Topeka.

The deli and tavern has survived flood, fire and family tragedy to remain a fixture on the east side of the capitol city. It's famous for its chili and hot pickles as well as its atmosphere and mystique.

Porubsky's film is about an hour long and includes images taken of the deli over the years. It also includes music by local artists to help tell the story.
