Hutchinson Correctional Facility officials asking for the public's help in locating a missing K-9 unit.

Deputy Wardon Don Langford said the the young Belgian Malinois escaped from the facility during Wednesday night's storms. The dog named Daisy, panicked, and climbed an eight foot fence to get away.

Langford said the dog is usually kept in a kennel crate during thunderstorms. But someone unfamiliar with her temperament did not know to lock her up.

Langford said trainers have been working with Daisy on narcotics detection. She has been at the corrections facility for about eight months.

Daisy has a tan body with a black face, similar to the picture above. Her breed resembles that of a German Shepard.

Officials are asking that anyone who spots the dog to call 911 or the animal control center at (620) 694-2636.
