Police are still trying to figure out what lead to the shooting death of a 2-year-old Kansas boy.
Tyler Ouinette was found dead in a house near Americus in Lyon County. Investigators have not said if they believe the death was an accident or if foul play was involved.
Tyler's mother says that somehow the child woke up, took the keys to the safe where the gun was kept, unlocked it and shot himself.
His aunt says the child did know what a gun was and he knew it was wrong to point one at someone. She says this tragedy should serve as a wake up call for families who keep guns in their home.
A memorial fund as been set up for Tyler through the Bank of America.
