Weather Repairs

The snow may be done, but the ice is hanging around still causing headaches for drivers around Kansas. Local body shops are swamped with the damage left behind.

All week we’ve seen the accidents, now body shops are handling the results. Wintry weather equals big business for collision repair shops.

“When we have multiple storms back to back, like we experienced last week, we see a lot of fender benders. Not anything too serious,” says Jaden Randle with Auto Craft Collision Repair.

Shops are still backed up, because the snow’s not going anywhere. Conditions on side streets are still treacherous.

“The back roads are now icy, really icy. That’s what I’m finding,” says Wichitan Jenny Stephens.

“The main roads, you can go the speed limit. On the side streets you have to go 10 miles an hour,” says Wichita MaryAnn Decker.

Body shops are mainly dealing with the small stuff, including fender benders. But all the small stuff can add up to big bucks

With the frigid weather lingering on, driving on side streets is still a slippery situation.
