It’s a truck that raises eyebrows; anti-abortion activists call it “The Truth Truck.”

But, pro-choice people say it’s too graphic and obscene. Now, police are wondering who vandalized that controversial truck on Wednesday night.

“We keep pretty close tabs on the trucks. Normally they’re behind a locked gate,” says Troy Newman, Operation Rescue West president.

But Wednesday night, “The Truth Truck” was not behind a locked gate, leaving an open invitation to vandals who gave the truck a paint job. Newman says, to him, it looks like an organized strike.

“It certainly looks organized. There was also a crisis pregnancy center that was damaged as well as another billboard truck,” Newman says.

Newman says he has filed a police report. He also says his group has leads on who they think committed the vandalism.

Diane Wahto, co-chair for the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice says it’s not right for Newman to point the finger at the pro-choice community.

“They don’t have time to be involved in this kind of thing. We would never do something like this,” says Wahto. “We have a structure against doing that kind of thing. That’s just not our way of operating.”

Newman says his group is ready with new signs for the truck and it will be back on the road Saturday.
