Six men arrested in connection to the death of a Wichita man made their first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
Over the course of several days, Wichita police arrested six men in connection to the murder of 34-year-old Shawn Lindsey, whose body was found in some brush near K-96 and Hillside last week.
Thursday, each appeared in front of a judge for formal charging. Three of the men, 32-year-old Phomphikak A. Phouthalaksa, 28-year-old Anthony L. Garza and 27-year-old Aaron J. Stricker, were each charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping.
The other three, 32-year-old Dang Sean and twin brothers, 37-year-old Jason and Justin Jones, were each charged with first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated kidnapping.
Police believe Lindsey had formerly worked with at least two of the suspects at a machine shop. Lindsey had been unemployed when he was killed.
Lindsey was last seen alive by his girlfriend at a west Wichita business Friday, January 11. Police believe he was killed later that evening, then dumped at K-96 and Hillside. Utility workers discovered his body several days later.
Five of the suspects are being held on a $750,000 bond. The sixth, Dang Sean, is being held on a $1 million bond. All six men are currently scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 7.
