A Kansas soldier is reunited with a special friend he helped save from the frontline of Afghanistan.

1st Lt. Chris Corman of Derby arrived at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport Friday night and was greeted by the stray dog he and several other marines befriended and rescued.

Etty, spelled E-T-T-Y, which stands for embedded training team puppy, had only a 50 percent chance to live when Lt. Corman and his family put together the funds to send her to the states for veterinarian care.

Etty suffered from respiratory problems but she has received care and is healthy now and living with her new family.
