Bank Robbery Arrest in Winfield
A man has been arrested for the robbery at Corner Bank in Winfield Friday.

Winfield and Cowley County authorities have arrested one person for holding up the Corner Bank in Winfield Friday. The bank is located at 1421 Main Street.

According to a press release, officers used surveillance video and eyewitness statements to obtain a description of the suspect. Following up on tips and physical evidence located in the area, officers were able to determine the identity of a suspect in the case. As a result of the investigation an arrest has been made. A suspect was located at approximately 1:00 am on the morning of July 4, 2009.

The case is expected to be transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for federal prosecutors to review. The name of the suspect will not be released until official charges are filed in federal court. Formal charging could occur as early as Wednesday.
