Two Kay County, OK Escapees Captured
Two of the four men who escaped this week are back in custody.

Two of the four men who escaped from the Kay County, OK jail this week are back in custody. Branson, Missouri police arrested two of the escapees early this morning.

Branson Police said they made a routine traffic stop on West Highway 76 and found Ponca Green, 29, and Benito Jose Bustos, Jr., 45, in the car. Bustos ran from the car. He jumped a retaining wall, and broke both of his legs. Bustos is in custody at Skaggs Community Hospital awaiting surgery for his injuries.

Green was taken to the Branson Police Department and placed in a holding cell. While in the cell Green tried to strangle himself by twisting his shirt around his neck. Green was taken to a Springfield hospital for treatment.

Two escapees remain at large. Doyle Bertschy, 44 and Kenneth Sherrod, 53.
