Sales of fireworks are slow in western Kansas since many towns have limited their use or banned them altogether.
At one stand outside of Garden City, business is down compared to last year. This is partially because of the dry conditions in southwest Kansas.
Fireworks can't be shot in Garden City along the Arkansas River or in the cities of Liberal and Dodge City.
