Wichita Police believe a man they found floating in the Arkansas River Monday, drowned. The body of a white man in his thirties to forties was found just after 1 p.m. Monday near the east bank of the Arkansas River.
Police say two Kansas Department of Transportation workers spotted the body in the river from the Kellogg Overpass where they were working.
Police say an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death but they say they believe the man was a transient who was just trying to cool off in the river.
