Westar crews spent Sunday trying to get the electricity back on for customers in southwest Sedgwick County after a storm plowed through the area Saturday night. The storm knocked down thirty power poles and left about 6,000 people without power for most of the night.
Jim and Nancy Martin were at home when the storm blew through. They watched it take down three big power lines and hurl them within feet of their front door.
Hurricane force winds of 120-miles per hour were recorded near McConnell Air Force Base.
