Cheney Visits Wichita

Dick Cheney told the state's G-O-P faithful that
its time to make the Bush tax cut plan permanent.

He was speaking at a luncheon in Wichita today. More than three
thousand invitations were sent out for the thousand-dollar-a-plate
event.

Cheney says its time to permanently get rid of the death tax. He
says a farm or family business should be a family legacy - not a
target for the tax collector.

Cheney also thanked Kansas for its six electoral votes in the
2000 election.

G-O-P leaders in Kansas say they are hoping the luncheon will
raise a half million dollars for party candidates.

KAKE 51 will rebroadcast the Vice President's speech tonight at 6:30.
