Rolling Stones Rock Air Capital

October 1--Local Rolling Stones fans might be waking up later than usual Monday morning, after the legendary band rocked Cessna Stadium Sunday night.

From street fighting men, to honky tonk women, thousands flocked to Wichita to spend the night together with the Rolling Stones.

Even before the concert got started up, there were countless parties. Some local restaurants offered shuttle service to the big show.

Some fans got to Wichita State early, hoping to avoid the beast of burden that is parking around the stadium; others parked at off-site locations and hopped on shuttles, so the parking hassles would not cause 19 nervous breakdowns.

The Stones had the crowd rocking the instant they took the stage. Many of the fans were far from newcomers, saying they can still remember the last time they saw the band in concert. One fan says he saw the Stones in concert in 1973, for just three dollars.

After the concert, fans filed out of Cessna Stadium gearing up for what many thought would be a traffic mess. Only a limited number of parking spaces were available on the Wichita State campus.

However, thanks to lots of preparation, and multiple shuttle services, fans tell KAKE news exiting the concert and getting home was not the headache they expected. Some say they were home within an hour of the concert's ending.
