New Information In Search For Missing KC Girl
|
|
Saturday, March 7, 2009
Kansas City, MO, Police are canceling the Amber Alert issued for a 4-year-old girl after her mother was found dead.
Authorities say they will continue the search for the child, but Captain Rich Lockhart says the alert is being lifted because they are believed to become less effective after 24-hours.
Authorities now say the girl's father, 31 year old Luis Corrales, is considered a person-of-interest. His car was found in the apartment complex parking lot.
Investigators found 27-year-old Katia Lainez dead inside her home around 9:00 Friday morning. Her daughter, 4-yr-old Allison Corrales, could not be located. Lainez had taken a restraining order out against the girl's father.
The family vehicle, a red 2001 Kia Sportage with a Missouri license plate, is also missing.
Luis Corrales is known to have family in Houston, Texas, and in Manassas, Virginia.
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-8477.
