Chelsea Brooks Mother Slams DA Candidate

one has no obligation to pull an ad.It is truthful and informs the public as to what has happened and what could have been prevented..Your family needs to read the reports spoken in the ad.I suggest to ease your families pain dont read the paper and dont watch the tv till after election..and although as painful as it must be..perhaps stay away from posting on this website.The "Truth "is sometimes painful.

Your family filed 2 reports on Elgin Robinsons indecent liberties with your sister long before your sisters disappearence nothing was done.Perfectly .In 2004 another incident different 13 yr old,caught in the backseat of his car with another having sex..admissions from the little girl and Robinson they had sex plus one used condom in his possesion..Nothing filed which would have put him in prison for a long long time .thus preventing what happened to your sister.Perfectly clear.Thats not Mr Schoenhofers fault..Thats Nolas fault..your blaming her opponent is absolutley wrong.after 20 yrs Nola,Parker,and Occonor are still learning?? what a tough lesson we in sedgewick county have learned,in the worst way..what is "perfectly clear"is we need a new District Attorney..Dump Nola

I am absolutely against Nola and pray she is voted out of office. However, many of you who commented have not lost a child to murder and have NO idea how you would react. Writing can be very therapeutic for those who are in deep pain. As I have said, it is alleged that Nola has protected tiller who does not value life. His little gang has fought hard to stop fetal homicide laws. I have also heard several child advocates who have expressed concern on how Nola handles abuse cases. I will be voting for Mark but out of respect for this family, he should have talked with them first. No one knows the hell they are going through and it is easy to call names and judge their parenting skills. That is very unfair! I am sorry Mrs. Brooks that some people are not more sensitive to your grief and pain. You have a right to your feelings.

First and Foremost, my heart goes out to the entire Brooks family. Second,speaking from a young persons point of view, I think its incredibly wrong for any individual to say "Where were the parents at?" Unless you are physically at your childs side 24/7 you have absolutely no idea what he or she is doing. But its funny how you pretend you do. I absolutely love it when you hear a parent say my child would never do that... or my child and i are like best friends he or she doesnt hide anything from me...lol. Thats hilarious! But either way I do intend to vote even if its just to be able to tell myself "you voted for him/her!" "should have voted for the other one!" Because as always as soon as that person takes there office everybody will be very disappointed and have something else to negatively comment about...

The DA's office is perfectly clear on our position regarding the events before my sister's murder. Previously I have endorsed Nola, my mistake. I just don't care for a DA who doesn't care about the way that he treats the families of victims of crime. Nola may not be perfect, but she does care about us. She has really gone the distance. I know that not everything that she does is great, but at least she is learning lessons. Mark said that if it upset us that much he would pull the ad. Well it does and he knows that and he still won't pull the ad. So now as well as adding to our pain he is a liar.

5 cases that were lOP'd by Nola regarding Robinson? - if Chelsea's mother really cared she would find out the truth instead of going out and condemning people that want the truth. People don't want this to ever happen to another child again - people care - Terri Brooks needs to care enough to see what really happens instead of believeing the lies that Nola's office has told her. Ask for the proof Terri Brooks and then when you get it - raise hell that your child wasn't protected like she should have been. When you do that then I'll respect you.

Nola's office always puts the blame on someone else but themselves, its the police, its srs, its the parents, its the citizens never is her office held accountable. Nola the people hold the truth and the truth will prevail. No more abusing the rights of children and parents and no more excuses as to why you don't prosecute child rapists. Nola Foulstons office is a big disgrace to children.

There is proof that 5 cases where taken to Nola Foulstons office in regards to Robinson and that all five cases were LOPD. Not one, not two, not three, not four but five. Mark Schoenhofer would not run an ad that didn't have the proof to back it up, KWCH has done fact checks on his ads and they were all truthful. Mr. Schoenhofer is a caring person and all he wants to do is educate the public on the lack of prosecution in Nola's office, how hardened criminals continue to walk. It's all about Nola's prosecution record, if she loses then it goes down and she wouldn't want that! I as a mother and grandmother would want to prosecute no matter the outcome, then I could at least say I tried. Its all about Nola Foulston the arrogant woman she is and all the arrogance in her office, its time for a change no more suffering of innocent children, no more allowing violent criminals to walk our streets, no more shooting a person and getting away it. It is past time for a new DA.

The life of the teenager and the unborn child are a tragedy beyone words. How about the also unborn children at George Tillers clinic? Nola Foulston has made a career out of protection for Tiller. All children are the future.

Wow! I can not believe someone would be blasting these parents on how they raised Chelsea. What parent sticks 24/7 to there teenage daughter anyway. Its obvious they loved her very much and thats all that matters. Those making comments about there parenting skills obviously has never been a parent to a teenage daughter.

I will not be voting for Nola...funny how she will prosecute Robinson for murder but lets Tiller go free. We need true justice!!! Robinson is guilty of two murders, but what about Tiller???he is guilty of way more than that!!! Praying for the Brooks family!

how many times will Nola, Kim, and the rest of this DA office be allowed to tamper with evidence, cover up things that they dont consider prosicutible until someone is dead, or injured badly. How many kids are going to be thrown into the state system when there is no need, everybody needs a fair hearing but when the CORRECT proof is there but hidden and covered up, impossible as long as Nola is DA, and more and more and more kids, and families with deal with this tragedy. Make Nola accountable, she should be the one facing charges, but we all know that wont happen. Isnt she like 80 anyway, time for her to retire, lets give her this retirement and elect Mark for DA, and a new change of venuew....

I too am quite suprised by this attitude toward Schonefer. If I was the parent of a child murdered, I certainly would be more outraged at the fact that this particular DA (Nola) didn't prosecute the SOB who murdered my daughter before the fact. Perhaps that would have saved her life. Cooperative victim or not, Chelsea made statements to other people. Certainly Nola could have gotten a conviction there. She chose not to. I am also concerned about you being upset that Mark didn't contact you. Where is that obligation? His obligation is to inform the public about the current state of the office so that other parents don't go through what you did. I know that you feel good about Nola because she got thte conviction, but honestly, the evidence was there. A monkey in a clown suit could have gotten that conviction, especially in Sedgwick County. Mark is trying to do nothing but educate the public. That's his obligation. His obligation is to find justice, which so many DAs don't do anymore.

The truth is, Schoenhofer has lied through this whole campaign. He OR his wife lied about the domestic calls and what really happened, he lied about Tiahrt's endorsement and now he is lying about trying to contact the Brooks family. Running this exploiting ad is just another example of his sleazy character. While Nola may not be the best, I would rather vote for her than someone who is dishonest and aligns himself the fringe nutballs.

I think alot of people on here are being judgemental and we all know what god says about that!!!!! I think shes mad and she was employed at a law firm when she dissapered, so she would know what shes talking about. And I think shes mad at foulston too. Its time for everyone who is guilty in this case to be punished. And that means the law enforcement that didn't enforce the law three times before Chelsea. I think I might even smell a civil suites on the rise!!!! R.I.P. chelsea and Alexa and hooray for you terri the government really needs more people with values like you!

I feel for the Brooks family but I have to agree with "N". Where were the parents that this child was allowed to run around with a man at the age of 14. I really feel the parents are somewhat to blame on this also.

I don't blame cheslea's mom for blasting Schoenhofer for using her daughter's murder for his campaign. he should have discussed it with them first. he was out of line. i don't care if he is trying to point out faults of Nola and the facts. He should have asked first. That is disrespectful to the brooks family. and they did lose a granddaughter, and i think the person who said that they did not is a sick person.

For starters-The law is flawed, and so is the justice system. They take the kids that don't need to be taken. They leave those that shouldn't be left right where they sit. They don't prosecute properly. They use tragedies like this for personal gain. Secondly-I'm really peaved that people commenting don't even know the correct names of the victims. Get it straight or shut up. Their names are CHELSEA AND ALEXA BROOKS. It's ALEXA people, NOT Alexis!! Thirdly- A baby that's full term is NOT a mass of cells YOU MORONIC IDIOTIC TWITS! I with Retired Officer, how could a mom who is in so much pain write this? I am a mother of a child victim and I would be upset with the DA for NOT saving my child. The only people to blame is the current DA, not Mark Schoenhofer for trying to make sedgwick county a safer place to live. Nola pleas and give probation to dangerous offenders, she needs to go.

If I was the mother of a child who was murdered and the case had been presented to the DA before in 2004, I would be outraged that this child rapist was not prosecuted! I would outraged at Nola Foulstons office NOT Mark Schoenhofer, he is educating the public on what Nola Foulstons office doesn't do. Mark should run an ad about all the child rape cases that were taken to Nola in the last 4 years that were LOPD, this would make a good ad, it speaks the truth just as all his ads have so far. How about an 8 year old who told they are being sexually abused? Or how about a 3 year old who has been raped? Or how about 6 children who live in the same home and the dad was found to of committed the sexual abuse of his children by SRS but Nola Foulstons office wanted a confession, these are just a few cases, there are many, many more. I my heart goes out to the family of Chelsea but please do not let Nola Foulstons office use your family to help her in the election, she is the devil.

I did write this letter. No, I haven't gone to law school. I've worked in the legal field for 30 years however. I'm not defending Mrs. Foulston, and neither she nor anyone in her office asked me to do this. In fact, she's probably cussing me tonite for doing it. Mr. Schoenhofer's ads are inaccurate and do not adequately inform the public about these criminal cases. And he certainly didn't try very hard to reach us - we've been at the courthouse every weekday for the last month. If you read what I said, there were failures on everyone's part (and for all of you out there bashing my parenting skills, I'm including myself). It can't all be laid at the door of the Sedgwick County DA. There are some very good, very experienced prosecutors who will either be fired or leave if Schoenhofer wins, and if you think things are bad now, just wait till you have only a handful of experienced prosecutors. Next time, read carefully and thoughtfully consider what I said.

If Terri Brooks wrote this she must have went to law school recently! Nice try Nola, we aint buying it! By the way, I have seen the DA clearance on the case against Robinson involving Brooks. It was cleared, LOP (Lack Of Prosecution) given to other agency. That was quickly changed after Brooks was found dead. This was nothing but a cover up by the DA's office and Schoenhofer busted them on it! I for one am sick of seeing good police work turned away by Nola and her cronies> It needs to stop now!!!!!

I am wondering why she is so concerned about the DA's office and how Mark Schoenhofer would manage to prosecute sexual offenders and other criminals. If I was Chelsea's mother I would be a lot more hostile towards those who wouldn't prosecute. She honestly sounds like she is grateful to Nola. Somehow this is very odd.

Mom where were you when your daughter was running around with this guy and where were you when she got pregnant, if you had done something legally as she was underage and he wasn't, perhaps this wouldn't have happened but you sat back and did nothing so you're just as much to blame for all of this as is anyone else.

I like many others have a teenage daughter. I would be furios if I went to the law on several occasions to keep someone away from her such as Robinson.The end result is a tragedy.My heart aches for your family as do many parents,however,your outrage should be placed squarely on those who could have prevented it and didnt.Dont shoot the messenger,Mr Schoenhofer who is bringing out the facts.As painful as you must feel, perhaps your case will bring about a change for the better in the District Attorneys office and other branches of the law.God bless you and your family

I have to admit that I was shocked when I saw the ad on TV. This should have been discussed with the family. I can see why she's outraged. It astonishes me that more people don't feel the same way from what I've read here. The letter doesn't support any political agenda. These are the words of an angry and mourning Mother. As she should be angry. It shouldn't be taken as a political issue at all. It's wrong for anyone to use the suffering of others for their own personal gain.

Kake presents an unsigned letter obviously written by Nola and several of her District Attorneys and should have been signed by Nola..this is the same info that she has been circulating for weeeks,the facts are clear had the District Attorney done their job in 2004..Ray Ray wouldnt have been out to murder.The Brooks family made several police reports to try to keep Robinson away from their teenage daughter and further a protection from abuse order to do such..alas to no avail...these are facts that werent made available until now...The Truth is, if the District Attorney would have done their job..The tragedy could have been avoided that is what is plainly evident.Your blame should rest with the District Attorneys office...Not the police or Mr Schoenhofer. I am the mother of a child that was raped and Nola Foulston did everything possible to cover it up including offering immunity to the sexual abuser, condoned tampering with evidence, illegally detained my child in custody, falsified documents and eventually placed my child with the abuser! Nola Foulston's 90% plea bargain conviction rate is more important than the safety of any child. There was more than enough evidence to prosecute this animal. I am outraged by the lack of prosecution in Sedgwick County especially when it comes to children. Unfortunately my child's case is not unique or special as this is continually happening to children in Sedgwick County. Sexual abusers are walking our streets, they are your next door neighbor and your children are going to their homes to play because Nola Foulston refuses to prosecute without a confession. If you love your children you need to be concerned and vote for Mr. Schoenhofer.

Personally I don't care for attorneys in the broad scheme of things but Criminal defense attorneys are needed for the innocent - all people charged with a crime are not guilty of that crime. When an innocent person is charged it takes a knowlegeable defense attorney to make sure that the rights were not violated. If law enforcement or the DA's office didn't follow the law then the innocent person needs a good defense attorney to represent them and get that reversed in the court of appeals. I would trust a criminal defense attorney any day than a corrupt family law attorney who makes deals in the back room which affect the lives of children and families. It's a job - and thats what people should be graded on - how they do their job. My vote is for Mark Schoenhofer.

my prayers are with the brooks family... to the person who said the brooks family did not loose a granddaughter, are you kidding me. If that was your child or wife and they were in the same situation would you feel the same way..doubt it. That was an unborn child, a child of god. Chelsea even at a young age should have never been done the way she was, and her family should not be going threw not one lose but two. This is a political race, i am not a sedgewick county resident but as for all the elections this year there a mess, not many good canidates on any level. However i do not agree with the way Nola and her so called team have not done there jobs, only threatend to make things happen if they didnt go there way, i do not know much about mark, and do agree he should have had permission before using the brooks family tragedy, but take a very close look at Nola, its time for a change. May god be with you Mrs. Brooks, there will be a long road ahead....

I cannot imagine what the Brooks family has gone through and understand why they are angry. My concern is that Nola has been accused of protecting George Tiller and his gang....the same group that fights against fetal homicide laws because they believe it threatens abortion. Tiller has been able to do as he pleases and I have heard some really horrible things that have gone on in his "clinic." I cannot, in good conscience, vote for Nola.

Have you ever thought about maybe Mark Schoenhofer is outraged about the fact that Chelsea's murder and the murder of her unborn child could of been prevented. How about the Burnett guy that has a long history of criminal behavior and violated probation and he was still left to walk our streets not put back in jail. Robinson was released from jail the day Chelsea went missing according to an article in the eagle. We as citizens feel the same as Mark Schoenhofer and your letter will not sway my vote it makes me more determined to vote for a change. I am the mom of a child who was victimized at the age 7, I too used not like defense attorney's but they are part of the judicial system and they are only do their job.

Mrs. Brooks (and all other that are mis-informed ; including lawmakers) I am a father and have no idea how I would begin to handle what you have been through, I offer my condolences for the loss of your daughter. And here's the "but" you did not lose a granddaughter, you see she had not yet been born so in REALITY she never was your granddaughter. You did lose a child but the mass of cells in her belly was not - sorry. Again my sympathies for the loss of your daughter.

What happened to Chelsea Brooks and her unborn child was a horrible crime. But we can't look past the fact that Robinson was a criminal before the murder and if he would have been treated as one then maybe two lives could have been saved. I read an article in the eagle that stated the day Chelsea went missing Robinson just got out of jail, and how about the person who actually murdered Chelsea, Burnett he has a long criminal history, he violated parole many times and was allowed to continue to walk our streets live in our neighborhoods. Nola Foulston she needs to go, I am sure that the police made their mistakes just as Nola's office does all the time, but the bottom line is too many criminals are walking our streets due to plea bargins, lets make a deal by the DA's office when they should be behind bars for a very long time. Mark Schoenhofer is a defense attorney which will give him more leverage in the courtroom against other defense attorney's. Mark Schoenhofer should be DA.

I dont blame them for their anger but it should be directed at Nola Foulston and her incompetence in office that created this mess!

That's a powerful letter. It gives a lot to consider regarding the upcoming election. However, it doesn't paint Nola in any lime light, thank God. Nola is still a joke, and Mark you should have consulted the family before jumping on the soap box. Is it too late to get some other candidates?

I am aghast that she could in any way say good things of our DA. She creates choas and hopelessness wherever her life intersects others. She is a menace to our city. Look what she has done to countless families. She is as guilty as Robinson. She and her henchmen get SRS reps to lie on reports and tears innocent children from their parents. At least you know where chelsea and little Alexis are... at peace in heaven. Nola makes sure that some parents live in torment the rest of their lives. Never knowing where or how their babies are. Wichita would be a better place without those like Tiller who takes life before birth and Nola who takes life and makes it hell. I say we need anyone other than who is DA in that office. A few years even poorly run by Schoenhofer will at least clear the poo out of the office so the next good DA can have a chance. |

The entire staff of the D.A.'s office run by Nola Foulston are nothing but a bunch of liers and whenever and whatever they lie about they know beyond a shadow of a dought that the o-so-sick-whenever-it-meets-her-needs-Foultston-will-rule-in-the-favor-of-her-staff-no-matter-true/or/false. My suggestion is for /Foulston to personally contact me and listen to what really happened in our case and not what she has read or heard her staff, because if someone is truthful they will want to hear from all and not reley on just the mouth of their staff. My Number is 316-722-1561 and my name is Pam Jordan. I have a daughter that was taken by the very people I am speeking of and our story was on the news and Wichita Eagle. This system sent my daughter back pregnant with no explanation. They toyed with my girls (Brittany and Chelsey). I am glad that the election is over and Nola won the DA race. I hope that some of you out there bashing this letter will never have to fill the pain and heartache that this family has felt. Or any other family of a murder victim. I know that 2 years ago, I had to stand and tell my 14 year old daughter that her best friend and goddaughter were gone. That is something a child should never have to go through. I have seen the pain and frustration this family has gone through everyday for the past 2 years. Why has no one put any blame on RayRay for preying on young girls. Obviously most of those people must be fathers or mothers that see nothing wrong with an adult male preying on young girls. Also, Alexa Brooks was a real person and not a mass of cells. She and Chelsea are missed daily and will never be forgotten.
Thank you Mrs. Brooks. I was just talking with my 15 year old son about this ad that Mr. Schoenhofer had on the TV. I said "had that been my daughter's case, I would have made him remove it for respect of our family" I am totally against political ads as such and support your views as well.

Nola was ill again - unable to do her interview on ksn.com on Friday. Someone needs to put the 5 LOP's in her face and ask her to explain those. Nola's saying that there was only 1 previous report - everyone knows that the only office that LOP's cases is the DA's office - so why would there be 5? Nola is nothing but a figure head for the District Attorney's office - everyone knows that she doesn't run that office - What concerns me is WHO is running the DA's office? Not the person that was voted in. Time for her to go.

To the Brooks Family, I have in my possesion copies of all five reports where the DA cleared them LOP. By the way, I have also lost a child and am very familiar with the pain you are suffering! My heart and prayers go out to you. My offer stands, just let me know by posting here! I can tell you by personal experiance that I would want to know the truth!
AndoverDays, Nola is the one who put the Schoenhofer information out there....she is the one who embarrassed his ex-wife and child. His ex-wife has made a statement of the facts and Nola keeps telling the lies in all of her speeches. The backruptcy is paid off....check the records. Nola will say or do anything to win an election. Mark Schoenhofer has promised to clean up the DA's office. He has promised to charge criminals and child abusers. Sedgwick County will be a lot safer for children with Nola gone.
Andover: Of course I care about domestic violence victims. Has the ex-wife spoke out about this? I know many (even liberals) who have talked about their displeasure for Nola. What is the option? Why has she gone unopposed for so long? We CANNOT continue to allow George Tiller to get away with his crimes. Our liberal politicians continue to protect him. It has to end!!

But have you considered that voting for Mark Schoenhofer is voting for a man that has shown no respect for his own family, much less the Brooks family? A candidate that will go forward and embarrass his own family by putting their private lives in the spotlight; even twisting the facts about his own 911 domestic violence calls, blaming his ex-wife with a drinking problem (that I know he asked her to fabricate), will say or do anything to win an election. On a much smaller scale compared to a horrible murder of course, but is this fair? Do his children and ex-wife not also have a right to their feelings of humiliation? Knowing this broken family as well as I do, noone knows what they are going through either.
