Kansas Better Business Bureau Warns Of Loan Scam
The Better Business Bureau of Kansas has confirmed a new advanced fee loan scam using a local downtown business address.

The Better Business Bureau of Kansas has confirmed a new advanced fee loan scam using a local downtown business address.

Brockwood Lending Group is using the address 100 S. Main, Wichita, KS. The Better Business Bureau office has confirmed that there is not a tenet in the building with that name, nor is there a phone listing for them.

We have also confirmed that their website brockwoodlending.com IP location is Singapore, the IP Address is the same as another advanced fee loan scam out of Louisville, Kentucky that appeared the first of October. The proper authorities have been notified.

Consumer Warning:

The company operating under the name Brockwood Lending Group is engaged in criminal activity, particularly the scam known as the ADVANCED FEE LOAN SCAM. It is against Federal Law to require any payment in advance for the purpose of granting a loan.

The company is not located at the address given and is not known to be anywhere in the area of WICHITA, KS and there is no indication that it is a real company. A BBB trace of its website indicated that the server used is located in Singapore. Do not send any money or give any personal information to anyone claiming to represent this or any other company requiring payment in advance of loaning money .You will not be able to recover any money that you send. If you have given any personal information such as Social Security numbers, bank checking or credit account numbers, or any data you do not wish to be known the BBB strongly recommends that you file a FRAUD ALERT immediately. You may do so by calling one of the three credit report agencies (EQUIFAX @ 1-800-525-6285/ EXPERIAN @ 1-888-397-3742/ or TRANS UNION @ 1-800-680-7289). If you believe you are a victim of Identity Theft please visit -http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/.

For additional information, you may also call the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-438-4338 if you do not have web access. You may file a formal complaint with the FBI at www.ic3.gov if you have been contacted by an advanced fee loan scammer, whether or not you have been victimized. If you have further questions and wish to speak to a BBB Representative you may call the WICHITA BBB at 316-263-3147 OR 1-800-856-2417.
