Three children are in police protective custody after their mother overdosed on drugs late last night.
Shortly before midnight Tuesday, police responded to a home in the 1000 block of South St. Clair in west Wichita.
Officers found a 31-year-old woman in a bathtub, suffering from an apparent heroin overdose. Three children were also in the home and taken into protective custody. The children are 3, 7 and 9 years old.
Police were originally called because a friend of the mother had come to the home, found her in the tub and called 911.
That woman is now being treated at a Wichita hospital, and is currently listed in serious condition.
