Teachers working on a chemical safety project were hurt in a chemical reaction. The incident happened this afternoon at Wichita West High school.
Emergency crews credit teachers for doing a good job to minimize the exposure to phosphorus. "They did a great job in the melee that ensued of neutralizing a great portion of the chemicals that spilled," said Tim Phares of USD 259.
Two of the teachers are underoing treatment at a hospital. The third was treated and released.
