A teenager has been killed after a stabbing in South Wichita.

Police arrived on the scene of a four-plex home around 9:30 Saturday night and found the male teen lying in the yard with a single stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was announced dead upon arrival.

Captain John Speer says this appears to have been a domestic disturbance between two males. A 25 year-old suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

antonio is my cousin and his loss will be great is the loss of anyone.i as a family member say thank you to everyone who has expressed their condolences they are appreciated.blame can be placed several places and we can point fingers but is that really important right now? it's not whats important is that our family is grieving and trying to prepare for a final goodbye and as many elders in our family would say the rest we shall turn over into the hands of the lord. may the lord bless you all. candy ridge.

Er nures you said the reason he was taken to St. Francis is because that and Wesley are the only trauma center... If that was the case then why wasn't he taken to Wesley??? WHINERS:I don't think that you would be say any of the things that you did if you were in our situation.. yeah homicides happen everyday everywhere! If you were going to be RUDE and your tired of whiners then why did you come and read about the murder??? p.s. No we don't expect for the police to sit in our living room 24/7 we expect the police to do their JOBS! KAKE 10... I feel that you guy should dig into the story deeper! my brother was 21 NOT 19! you wrote four little sentence... If all you were gonna do was give out the wrong informatin maybe you should'nt have wrote anything! to the people on here that dose care about my brother thanks for the support to everyone else your comments are irrelevant We Love you and are already missing you JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED TRUST AND BELIEVE!

I also wanted to add that no wichita pd are not understaffed they are just lazy and don't care at all what happens to the people of wichita let alone the people of south wichita. they have stereotyped us as being the low of the low of wichita and do not realize that most of us have full time jobs and struggle everyday to make ends meet. And as for tired of whinners comments yes homicides happen everywhere everyday but 90% of the time those are handled appropriately and the victims and family of the victims arent treated as poorly as i saw these people treated. The victim in this case was not treated as human but as another statistic to put in their books.

First of all I want to send my condolences out to the victims of this crime. It was not just the young man that died that suffers in this case. I still stand by my earlier comment that this case was not reported or handled the way it should have been. As someone that lives right across from where it happened and got home while the police were investigating it I saw from personal experience how this case was poorly handled. A close family member of mine works for another police department in this state and he agrees with me after how I told him the case was handled that this wasnt done right. As someone that has witnessed this, I feel that the victims of this were robbed of justice and peace of mind as are all the people surrounding this location. Im also sorry to say that I doubt they ever will feel that peace of mind so again, my prayers and condolences go out to the victims of this horrific crime.

the reason he was taken to st francis is because that and wesley are the only trauma centers and a stabbing is obviously considered a trauma. yes it may have been faster but they have all the staff and trauma docs on site and ready. if people could only see how things go in our trauma bays. sometimes a single patient can have as many as 10 plus staff and 5 or so can be doctors. my prayers go out to his family but sometimes doctors can only do so much

I am the friend of the oung man who was stabbed it was tragic and his girlfriend is in shock. As for you sick of whiners .... NO a police officer can not be around 24/7 but they can respond Quicker do you know that there is a Quick trip on every corner and at every Quicktrip there are several officers posted up so a timley responce should not be hard and more sympthy twards his loved ones would be nice.NO one sees the severity of the situation until something like this hits close to there heart

The boy that got stabbed was my boyfriend and the events that took place and the amount of time it took for him to get to the hospital was ridiclious why did the take him to st. francis when st. joseph was closer . i dont understand this his mother didn't even follow him to the hospital she folloewed her boyfriend to the police station insted of following her dieng son. I am furious and hurt i still can't believe he is dead we had wonderful plans for our future. and as for the whiners statement i dont think you kwould say that if it was your loved one. I want everyone to know he was young and the circumstances behind his death were heroic . just remember Antonio please, and imajin if it was someone close to you how you would feel. Your world stops in that moment they tell you that your future husband has expired< yes expired thats what they said i guess thats there way of saying it in a nice way but i don't understand it. (Editors note: Via Christi St. Joseph is not a trauma hospital and does not accept EMS trauma patients.)

You guys really sound like small town yokels. Homicides happen, everywhere. It's just the way it is. Per capita, Wichita has a pretty low murder rate. WPD is sorely undermanned on a beat level, but that doesn't have an effect on this incident. If it started as a domestic disturbance, what is law enforcement supposed to do to stop it? Do you expect an officer to hang out in your living room 24/7, just in case? You whine about police being too intrusive, and you whine about them not being there. And B from Derby, what does a casino have to do with any of this? That's some mighty fine insight.

understaffed--if the wichita police department is so understaffed then why do they have the staff to sit over at the gates of boeing with the strikers, Yesterday I counted a police officer and car at 3 gates, perhaps if they weren't there, they might be able to take care of the city of wichita. To me that is a case of abuse of the citizen's of wichita's money. Get em away from boeing, boeing workers chose to strike let em handle their own security, just like when beechcraft was striking at 4 gates was a police officer and car, so now we know where the police officers of Wichita are at and it's not out protecting the citizen's of wichita, it's protecting greedy employees that want to strike. If I lived in Wichita, I'd sure as heck want some accountability for this issue. Understaffed--obviously not.

I think its pretty pathetic that such a terrible event happened and the full story is three little comments long. What happened to keeping people informed with good reporting. I got more information about irrelevant news than I did about a crime committed right down my street. I think that the reporters should get into gear and get wichitans the real news a little better.

Good lord, I am so glad I don't live in Wichita, so much crime and killings, you can't be proud, I moved here from San Diego thinking to get away from crime and Wichita has just as much crime as San Diego and not even one casino in sight. Wichita better do something else you'll be the #1 crime city in the usa.
