Tuesday is the big day as Wichitans head to the polls to vote for their next mayor.

Voter turnout in this election is expected to be high. 40% of Wichitans are expected to vote Tuesday. The election commissioner's office says more people are expected to vote because of a heated mayoral campaign.

The mayoral candidates spent the day out trying to win votes, on this last day before the election.

Carlos Mayans hits the airwaves talking to listeners of American Family radio about why he should be elected. This rounds out a day of meetings and public appearances to get out the vote.

Carlos Mayans says, "Getting people to vote on the telephone, visiting with folks, making sure they do get out the vote."

Bill Warren started his day at the Boys And Girls Club, checking out the program and handing out movie passes. His next stop was the Workforce Development Center where he talked with unemployed workers.

Bill Warren says, "Quite frankly the city and the politicians need to take decisive action I just feel that we're not aware of how serious it is and how serious it's going to become."

Both candidates will continue campaigning through Election Day, with supporters working behind-the-scenes trying to get them elected.
