Shame on you all! I would have thought, with all the money and time spent on schooling and training for your reporters, that SOMEONE would think to use spell-check on a story before posting. "Beechcrafty spokesperson"?, "A Celebration of Life services"? It's no wonder that students have no concept of proper grammar or spelling, when this is the caliber of reporting making it to publication. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk

To the children and wife of Jeff I pray that the Lord our God has tucked you deeply in his arms to sheild you from the pain of your tragic loss. Jeff was a good friend to my mom who works at HBC and it was his own health issues that promted her to seek medical attention for her own issues. Without his encouragment I may not have her today to love. So through your tragedy please know that he saved her life during his days at HBC. May the Angels of mercy keep you daily. In Gods Love A daughter with a mom!!!!!!

"Joshua, sickofit, and puzzled are probably just saleried workers sitting at desks at hbc paid to spout anti union stuff. happens a lot." Give me a break! You know this "happens a lot" from personal experience, or what? You need to do some research about Labor Unions. More Americans are anti-union than ever. Their memberships have been steadily declining for years. WHY? Because they take your money, amd promise to make things so much better for you, but can't deliver. They can't even provide food to the striking families! And they rake in what, like $1 million a year in dues from HBC union members? Who is truly the greedy entity here? Did they not prepare for the strike?

Anonymous- They should just leave the man who hit him alone. We all have lessons in life and I am sure this is his. He will have to live with this for his entire life. That is enough, especially if he KNEW what a beautiful person Jeff was. Jeff was loving and good and lawsuits and that is not what would serve his memory the best. This man touched every life he came in contact with in a positive way and he will be so missed. WE have lost one of the few people who always spread cheer and sunshine...

Thank God HBC did the RIGHT thing in re-instating Jeff's benefits, including life insurance. His family has lost their wonderful father and this will help them make it through without all the extra worries.

Joshua, Puzzled, and Sickofit!: Please read the previous posts and honor the wishes of previous posters. Your opinions would be better suited on another thread. Thoughts of condolances would be more appropriate. Thank you.

The Union is saying that this was such a terrible contract, and to reject it? Yet, the last contract they told us to accept it even though it was considerably worse than this one. The Union is a joke! Anyone care to ask if our Union plant chairs are still getting their paychecks? Oh and by the way why doesnt the Union make a donation to the family of Jeff to cover funeral expenses, Lord knows they rake in enough from us to do so. Sorry your energy drinks and doughnuts arent cutting it!

Has any of these HBC workers had other jobs before this one? Do they remember what their wages were then? You people are the greediest of the greedy! Overpayed and lazy! You ungrateful lot would die if you had to do real work! Get off your lazy butts and go to work! "WHAAAA I only make 20.00 per hour and stand around and BS for 8hours a day" BOO Fricking Hoo!

Why has the name of the driver not been released? Aren't both parties involved in accidents usually identified?

Good God, is this what our society has come to? Have we really lowered the value of a human life, a father, friend, and family member. For those of you who posted respectful comments, thank you. For those of you with nothing but hateful comments, how do you sleep at night. Are your lives really that miserable that you would demean the value of human life and disrespect someones memory like you have. Why are we even discussing the strike when it comes to this, out of respect to Jeff's family, friends and co-workers, keep your hate mongering to yourself. Would you be spewing hate if it was your friend, your family? We are all on this earth for a purpose, and when that purpose is fulfilled, God takes us home to him. No one knows when or where, all we can do is try to live our lives the best we can. Jeff did just that, he worked hard, stood up for what he believed in, had two children that now have just memories, and you people are on here saying this stuff. Show some respect for once

I absolutely love this man...I am an employee @ QuikTrip and he was a regular customer! He was nothing but nice and considerate to me and others. I knew he would come in everyday and get a 52 oz foutain refill of Iced Tea and occasionally a couple of lottery tickets. To see him everyday put a smile on my face. He will never be forgotten. I will keep him, as well as his family in my thoughts and prayers.
