The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission will review the role played by three officials in a casino applicant's presentation.

The commission will see whether there's reason to believe the officials violated a state gambling law by endorsing Pinnacle Entertainment's proposed casino in Wyandotte County.

Four applicants want a management contract for a state-owned casino there.

Commission executive director Steve Martino says if there's enough to warrant an investigation, the matter will go to the attorney general.

The issue is whether commissioners for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kan., endorsed the project as private citizens, which is legal, or in their official capacity, which isn't allowed.
