April 9 - Millions of immigrants across the country are taking to the streets, trying to protect their rights. Wichita just one of dozens of cities expecting citizens to rally on Monday against proposed immigration reform in washington.

Jaya Escobara and Veronica Triana are part of MANA de Wichita, a group for Latino women. They've organized an educational forum at Wichita State University for Monday's National Day of Action. They say walking out of class or work is not the way to go.

That's what happened two weeks ago, when students across Wichita marched on City Hall during school hours to protest immigration reform. Triana says that's not the way she wants students to express their opinions. She says, "Our children need to be in school and get educated."

In Arkansas City, Creekstone Farms won't be open on Monday. Hispanic employees make up 75 percent of the plant's workforce. Plant managers have decided to close their doors so workers can have the chance to protest.

Washington lawmakers are debating a hot-button immigration bill. Among the items they're debating are building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and making it a felony to help an undocumented immigrant. Supporters say the plan could help fight terrorism but opponents call it cruel and unnecessary.
