A 29-year-old man was critically hurt after being shot overnight in North Wichita.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m. Sunday, police received a call of a shooting at
37th St. N and Broadway. There, officers found the victim lying in the intersection next to his vehicle. He had been shot two times in the back.

The victim later told officers that he had been shot while sitting at a stop light after leaving a club in the 3800 block of N. Broadway. He says a grey or black truck pulled up next to his vehicle, the passenger or the truck yelled, "Que pasa?" and then shot a 9mm handgun at him seven times.

The victim was taken to a Wichita hospital where he underwent surgery Sunday morning. He is currently listed in critical condition.

If you have any information about the shooting or the suspect vehicle, police ask that you call 911 or Crimestoppers at (316) 267-2111
