A 16-year-old girl is dead after the car she's riding in crashed into a ditch Friday night in Marion County. It happened near the intersection of 290th Road and Yarrow Road, about 2 miles east of Lincolnville.

23-year-old Zachariah Remmers of Herington was driving his car eastbound on 290th when the car hit a couple of potholes and began to skid. Remmers reportedly lost control of the car. It flipped and came to rest on it's side against a fence in the north ditch.

Passenger Kelly Anne Weakley, from Kansas City, Missouri, was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Another passenger, 24-year-old Keven Lockwood of Herington, was lifewatched to a Wichita hospital. He is reportedly in fair condition.

Remmers was treated and released from a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

All three were wearing seat belts.

These kids were not wearing seatbelts and the driver was legally drunk,as well as the passenger that was life flighted to wicita. The only one not drinking is the one that got killed. But the driver is still running around free, what kind of sick justice is that?

Can wichita take a lesson from this, potholes are dangerous. It dosnt really cost millions each to fix potholes, just fix them right.
