A 16-year-old girl is dead after the car she's riding in crashed into a ditch Friday night in Marion County. It happened near the intersection of 290th Road and Yarrow Road, about 2 miles east of Lincolnville.

23-year-old Zachariah Remmers of Herington was driving his car eastbound on 290th when the car hit a couple of potholes and began to skid. Remmers reportedly lost control of the car. It flipped and came to rest on it's side against a fence in the north ditch.

Passenger Kelly Anne Weakley, from Kansas City, Missouri, was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Another passenger, 24-year-old Keven Lockwood of Herington, was lifewatched to a Wichita hospital. He is reportedly in fair condition.

Remmers was treated and released from a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

All three were wearing seat belts.
