A group of about 100 students gathered today at the University of Kansas to protest the possibility of war with Iraq.

Yesterday, about 300 colleges around the world took part in the student strike known as "Books, not Bombs." But K-U delayed its protest until today, because of bad weather yesterday.

About 11 a-m, students walked out of class and assembled in front of a building on the Lawrence campus. Professor Scott Harris had about 60 students from his political rhetoric class listen to the speeches, instead of getting a lecture.

The demonstrators planned to conclude by forming a human peace
symbol.
