Bombardier Workers Approve Contract

Machinists at Bombardier have a new labor contract, one that was reopened to negotiations at the company's request -- it has been extended until October, 2006.

Union members approved the contract in a vote Monday. Among other changes, they're giving up a 3.5 percent raise next year, they'll pay 10 percent more in health insurance premiums, and contributions to their pension will be suspended for a year.

As a tradeoff the company will keep the plant open for at least three more years.
