It's summer and you want to take your family on vacation, but gas isn't cheap and neither are airline tickets. Have you thought about a family staycation? A staycation is a vacation where you stay in state and can do it on just one tank of gas.

Staycation's are our missions this summer. We're aiming to find things which are family friendly, fun, inexpensive, and less than two hours away. Our first mission this month is accomplished at Hedrick's Bed and Breakfast in Nickerson.

Hedrick's is a full service bed and breakfast just one hour away from Wichita. They are an undiscovered Kansas jewel excelling in exotic animals. You'll see anything from zebras and giraffes to ostriches and kangaroos. Staff will take you on tours where you are actually able to interact with the animals. If you're really good, you may even get to ride on the funny looking camels and miniature ponies! Hedrick's is family fun for all ages.

This 'close to home' staycation can be done for a family of four for under $200.00. It is less than two hours round trip drive time from Wichita and you'll take away memories which will last a lifetime.
