The Wichita Engineering Division is pleased to announce that motorists can now use the two middle lanes of the Minisa Bridge.

Workers reopened one lane in each direction Monday afternoon. King Construction started the structural rehabilitation work in January and was able to open the bridge to limited traffic one month ahead of schedule. The outside two lanes will remain closed until the restoration work is completed for safety reasons.

The City of Wichita would also like to thank the 52 families who donated glass on Saturday. This glass will be used to restore the artistic elements of the Minisa Bridge. Oakland Avenue Craftsman Company is now seeking red glass that was made before 1950. Sources of red glass from that period might include perfume bottles, glass jewels, beads and vases. Those wishing to donate red glass may contact Steve Jacobs at 640-5265.
