Imagine finding out that your family doctor is being disciplined by a hospital. It happened to patients in Colby.

Several doctors received word this morning that their ER privileges are being revoked.

Long time patient Jean Mazanec wants to know why her doctors, starting at 8 a.m. February 22nd, will not be allowed to treat her or anyone else in the ER.

Hospital CEO Michael Boyles says since last April, administrators have received numerous complaints about Doctor Hilyard, some alleging that he addresses staff with disturbing language.

Boyles is legally obligated to investigate such actions, which have ultimately led to the hospital suspending the doctor's privileges on multiple occasions.

Each time, Hilyard has received a restraining order against the hospital, so that he can continue to treat patients in the ER. But what's different about this time, is that almost his whole staff is included in the list of people who can't work in the ER.

Dr. Hilyard's spokesperson says patients are not happy.

Because of confidentiality, Boyles says he can't tell them why their favorite doctors aren't allowed to treat them in the ER.

The doctors say they're unable to disclose at this time what if any steps they'll take against the hospital.
