Small Business Administration loans are available to victims of tornadoes and violent weather that battered parts of Kansas on June 11th.

The federal agency said Tuesday that the low-interest loans can be secured by individuals and businesses in Chapman and Manhattan to help recover from storm damage.

Homeowners can borrow up to $200,000 to replace or repair destroyed or damaged primary residences. Businesses and non-profits are eligible for loans up to $1.5 million.

The Kansas Emergency Management Office says the volume of storm damage in Chapman and Manhattan wasn't great enough to qualify the state for individual assistance through FEMA.

The tornadoes damaged or destroyed 65 buildings or homes in Chapman, and left heavy damage in Manhattan and on the Kansas State University campus.
