A bill to balance the budget for the rest of this fiscal year was approved Friday in the House. It would cut some funds and redirect others.
The measure was sent to the Senate, despite complaints from Democrats that it creates fresh fiscal problems.
The proposal would avert an estimated $312 million budget deficit when the fiscal year ending June 30. A separate, smaller proposal awaits debate in the Senate.
Under the House measure, $118 million on would be cut from the budget. The state also would withhold $95 million from road projects, plus $48 million in aid to cities and counties.
