The pilot of a cropduster walked away from a crash this morning in Reno County. The accident happened before 9:00 a.m. near 82nd and Herren Road near Nickerson.

The plane from nearby Ag Air Service apparently crashed shortly after takeoff.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration are on the way to investigate the crash. Reno County authorities have also called the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, because the plane was carrying chemicals, and there is concern the chemicals could leak into the groundwater.
