Wichita Police today said a letter thought to be related to the shooting of a local officer turns out to be a hoax. The letter, which threatened other officers, was found in at an apartment complex last week.

At a briefing this morning, police announced they're arrested a 14-year-old boy for writing the letter. Police say the boy admitted he thought the letter was funny and he wrote it to upset his parents.

An off-duty police officer was shot on March 25th, while working security at Wichita Area Technical College. The bullet hit his radio, which may have saved his life.

A $2,000 reward is offered for information in connection with the case.
