A Pratt County firefighter has been arrested for intentionally setting a grass fire last month. The fire burned more than 30 acres near the community of Cullison on April 7th, according to Sheriff Vernon Chinn.

Chinn says the investigation had promising leads from the very beginning after a citizen saw a vehicle leaving the scene of the fire that day.

Within minutes, that person called 911 to report what he'd seen. A Pratt County deputy found a vehicle matching the description a few minutes later at the Cullison fire station.

The car belonged to 21 year-old Jesse Brenner. After a lengthy investigation, a warrant was issued for Brenner on Wednesday. He had since left the area and was picked up in nearby Barber County.

Brenner was arrested and jailed, but has since been released on bond.
