Republican House member Ted Powers of Mulvane has suffered a stroke.

He's at a Wichita hospital, but hospital officials will not give an update on his condition. Yesterday, he was listed in critical condition.

The 73-year-old has served in the House since 1993 and has filed for re-election.

Powers is a retired music teacher and serves on the Agriculture, Education and Environment committees.
