A local teen is hoping to get some help from the community in his battle with a rare skin disease.

17-year-old Kyle Hicks has a condition which makes his skin so fragile, even the slightest touch can cause blistering and tearing.

Hicks and his family are hoping a bone marrow transplant will help with his illness.

Tuesday, Hicks met with the Children's Organ Transplant Association to work on fundraising for the transplant. They are hoping to raise at least $500,000 for the procedure.

If you would like to help Kyle and his family you can go to:

www.cotaforkyleh.com for upcoming information about fundraising activities.

Also, you can send a check, payable to COTA, with "Kyle Hicks" written on the memo line, to:

Children's Organ Transplant Association
2501 COTA Drive
Bloomington, Indiana 47403

OR....
Make a deposit into the COTA for Kyle H. account at any local Bank of America branch.
