A 15-year old girl was hospitalized in Topeka after a freak lightning strike over the weekend.

Authorities say Felicity Wishkeno was hurt Saturday when a bolt of lightning struck a metal pole outside her house, traveled through the pipes into her home and struck her while she was in the shower.

Her parents heard her cry for help and dialed 911. She was rushed to a Topeka hospital.

The doctors who treated Felicity at the hospital said that this kind of accident
is not very common.

Family members said she was in stable condition Monday afternoon but will remain in the hospital for a few more weeks to undergo some tests.

Wishkeno is a sophomore at Rossville High School.
