The battle over Wichita's school bond issue will heat back up later today when two groups speak against the idea.
The Wichita School Board hearing arguments from the Citizens for Better Education and Wichitans for Effective Education at its meeting tonight.
The proposed bond issue would add 60 safe room storm shelters across the district and repair aging athletic and fine arts facilities. The issue is slated to appear on the November ballot.
Also on tonight's agenda, the school board is expected to fund the replacement of Wichita Northwest High School's baseball facilities.
Wichita Police believe an arsonist set fire to the team's dugout, storage shed and equipment April 19. Police have not arrested a suspect.
