Three people were stabbed during a fight at an East Wichita restaurant early Saturday. Police were called to the IHOP near Kellogg and Greenwich Rd around 2:00 a-m.

Police say the fight started between two families who have had an ongoing "issue." During the altercation, a knife was pulled by one of the suspects, who stabbed three members of the other family.

Two people were rushed to a Wichita hospital with potentially critical injuries, while a third person had less serious injuries. The victims reportedly drove away from the scene and eventually stopped a few miles away to call 911 for help.

A spokesperson says the suspect was arrested back at the scene and taken into custody for questioning.

I'm flabbergated once again, that the folks who where in IHOP at the time, didn't just call the police at the first sight of this altercation. Maybe if the shoe was on the other foot per say there judgement would of been different. Being intoxicated is not an excuse for doing nothing. The young man who was stab 4 times is a respectible person. i'm appauled that the folks who know this person who commited this crime will let him get away so he can have a tattoo to let everyone know he's a looser . Why is this person carrying a knife anyways is the question . He must be a productive person in todays society or is he. Hopefully they will catch the folks involved and send them to free room and board for many years. Maybe there parents should be held liable for raising such scum. Remember Wichita does have a cancelled weapons law, bring that knife to my party cowboy.

I know the parties involved in this and it was an unfortunate event but i dont believe that its the cops fault, cant be everywhere all the time. By the way all parties involved are going to be fine.

I was at IHOP when the stabbing occurred. The crime did not happen the way it was reported. I watched the suspect stab 3 people. I watched as all nationalities were fighting - Hispanic, Caucasian, and African/American. I attempted to stop the fight by beating on the glass and telling them that the police had been contacted. All of the people involved in the altercation left the property before the police arrived at the scene. There was property damage to the vehicles that the subjects were traveling in. I know one thing, it does not matter how it happened, what does matter is that everyone in this country needs to report crimes when they see them occuring. Don't just sit back and watch the crimes occur and then cry about what this world has come to. 100 people watched as this fight/stabbing occurred and 2 people got involved and made the call to 911. The fight continued because they did not care/or believe that the police were on the way. Just stand up and stop the violence.

I am getting ready to be a police officer for the WPD so I ride along with them all the time... And they are ALWAYS in that area at 2 o'clock in the morning... They know all the drunks go there after the bars close!!!! I think the Wichita Police Department does a fine job keeping Wichita safe... Shawn, what do want from the department? If you have any suggestions or comments then give them a call... But I'm not sure they will care considering you don't even live in Wichita!!!!

I think that it's time that Wichita got a new police chief. It seems that Norman Williams has done nothing for the community. Maybe it's time for the police to patrol the areas of resteraunts late at night. If the cops do patrol then there will be no crime.
