Insurance adjusters spent the day in Garden City totaling the damage from Monday's storm.

Karl Kunz with State Farm Insurance said that every roof his team has looked at has been a total loss.

"It's one of those issues that when we see hail like this it's a good idea
to get that roof replaced," Kunz said.

Kunz spent Monday on conference calls to coordinate the arrival of catastrophe response teams to help appraise the damage.

"We're expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,200 to 1,500
auto claims, with the possibility of 850 home owner claims," Kunz said of State Farm customers only.

A couple of suggestions he has given homeowners is to invest in impact resistant roofing and limit further damage by taping windows and tarping roofs until repairs can be made.
