Carbon Monoxide Scare At Wichita Plant

Sept. 23--Carbon monoxide proved to be a big problem for workers at Wichita's Burnham Composites today. At 12:40 p.m., someone call 9-1-1. People were sick, and the situation was only getting worse. "It was a serious condition to them," said Wichita Fire Marshal Ed Bricknell.

Authorities say it all happened because someone left a forklift running inside the building. The carbon monoxide built up over time and eventually seeped into offices and other areas.

Ten employees went to hospitals to be checked out. They were not seriously hurt.
