Wichita high school junior Jimmy Iniguez won't be expelled from classes. That's the decision Tuesday following a disciplinary hearing last week.
Iniguez says he was unfairly targeted for being openly gay. Iniguez was accused of harassing a fellow student in a bathroom at Midtown Alternative school, a charge he says was false.
Tuesday, Iniguez's attorney says he will be allowed to stay in school, but will transfer to a different campus where he can work towards his diploma at his own rate. Iniguez wants the district to consider adding "sexual orientation" to its anti-discrimination policy.
