The Cowley County Attorney's office says the man accused of kidnapping his own son at knife-point will make a first appearance in court Thursday.

Police arrested 33-year-old Francisco Jose Lopez-Campos Sunday. He was found with his 3-year-old son Anthony Lopez Hernandez at the Cowley State Fishing Lake. Police say Lopez-Campos took the boy from his home in Arkansas City Saturday night after an argument with the boy's mother.

Neighbors tell KAKE News they often see the boy and his mother out in their front yard. They also believe Lopez-Campos lived in the home with them in Ark City.

Police say Lopez-Campos is a gang member from Yonkers, New York. He's currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
