A child has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a car in north Wichita.
It happened near 13th and Ohio just after Noon Friday. The scene is just west of I-135.
Officers said that an 8-year-old boy was trying to cross the street, when he was hit by a car. Authorities said the child was not using the crosswalk.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
