The man suspected of shooting and injuring three people outside a Lawrence private club this week pleaded guilty to felony murder when he was a teenager.

26 year-old Carlos Jerome Jackson is still being sought for the shooting. However, two women reportedly in the same car as Jackson have been captured and arrested.

Jackson is now charged in a felony arrest warrant with three counts of aggravated battery. He is described as a black male, 5-foot 11-inches, weighing 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about Jackson is asked to call Lawrence Police at 785-832-7509.

The shooting Sunday morning injured two employees of the Last Call club and a 15 year-old patron.

When he was 17, Jackson pleaded guilty to felony murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the 1998 shooting death of a Topeka man. He and another Topeka youth were charged in connection with the death of Dennis R. Campbell, 24, who was shot Oct. 2, 1998, while he drove just southwest of downtown Topeka. Topeka police said Campbell was shot after a deal involving a small amount of marijuana turned into an attempted robbery.

Doing the math, it looks like either this guy that is wanted in this shooting did less than ten years for the Topeka murder charge or served as a juvenile, and if it is the case of the later, who in Topeka released this guy's juvenile record to the press? I can't believe either way that this guy served less than 10 years for killing somebody in Topeka and our criminal justice system let him out to do some more killing! Some justice that is! There are just some people that really don't deserve a second chance at life. If you take someone else's life, then that is a pretty good reason to be denied freedom for the rest of yours, at minimum.
